The Health Advantage offers a mobile Audiometry Service complying to Australian standards. This is a mobile air conditioned sound proof booth with trained technicians. The Health Advantage doesn't just offer a raw result but the reporting Doctor provides an interpretaion of the result plus recomendations as to any required further investigations or treatment. The reporting doctor also identifies whether the hearing loss is of an industrial type or non-industrial type (noise induced or not noise induced deafness). This system overcomes the difficulties encountered by the WHSO with other methods that only supply a raw result without interpretation. These systems can miss important non-work related conditions and may leave the company open to unjustified Work Cover claims or litigation. The Health Advantage system allows screening of the workforce to identify the potential workplace health and safety issues of noise induced deafness and enables corrective action to be taken for those people. With the addition of noise screening in the workplace (supplied by imtars) this becomes a useful tool in the prevention of hearing loss in workers and in turn prevents workcover claims by the workers. On site screening is less disruptive to productivity benefiting the workplace and adds to the already extensive list of onsite services provided by The Health Advantage: Flu vaccinations, on site medicals, health surveillance for lead & Isocyanate etc and lung function testing.
