Vocational assessment is used to determine individual and unique strengths and weaknesses in a variety of areas and allows for a high degree of comparison with employment and training options. Vocational Assessment fits into the redevelopment and/or rehabilitation process at any stage. It is preferable that this occur as early as possible in order to ensure that the cost of exploring unsuitable options is reduced. Information gained can help determine a person’s attitude towards redeployment and rehabilitation, and the various blocks to retraining or alternative placement. Taking into account the participants background, age and own goals. Assessments generally examine which occupations best fit to that individual’s abilities, interests and personality.
